Description

The World Legal Forum foundation (WLF) structures the interaction between international law and public and private stakeholders worldwide. WLF’s activities include developing and establishing international market oriented products and services.

The year 2010 marked the kick-off of WLF’s programme "Hague Utilities for Global Organisations (HUGO)". The HUGO programme, which is subsidised by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation, and the City of The Hague, aims to investigate the feasibility of the establishment of new institutes for international dispute resolution in The Hague.

The programme is geared towards three sub programmes:

1 - Dispute resolution in financial markets.

2 - Dispute resolution and Corporate Social Responsibility.

3 - Anti-Fraud & Corruption.

The eight main HUGO partners are: the World Legal Forum foundation; NautaDutilh law firm; Pels Rijcken & Drooglever Fortuijn law firm; Buren van Velzen Guelen law firm; the Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative of Harvard Kennedy School; the Institute for Environmental Security; the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences; and Science Alliance B.V.
