Views and experiences where exchanged between participants representing relevant ministries from national governments in Africa, the United Nations, the European Union, African Union, international organisations, development agencies, African environmental agencies and authorities, universities and research centres, non-Governmental organisations and grass roots groups. Many participants entered into constructive discussion about the pressing security needs of African communities faced with climate change.
